We warmly invite you to the opening of the art exhibition Pot na Goričko – a special evening bringing together visual art, music and nature in a unique way, while also marking the retirement of Stanka Dešnik, the long-serving director of Landscape Park Goričko.

The title of the exhibition, Pot na Goričko, comes from a drawing by the Slovenian artist Nikolaj Beer, created in 1986. Goričko is a central motif in his work – a landscape of origins, distance and return.
For Bram D’Hont, the relationship with Goričko is different. Originally from Zeeuws-Vlaanderen in the Netherlands, he now lives in Prosečka Vas. For him, Goričko is not a landscape of memory, but the place where he lives and works. The landscape therefore appears less directly in his work, and more as the space from which his artistic practice emerges.
The exhibition brings together two different journeys: Beer’s journey towards a landscape of memory and D’Hont’s journey through a landscape of the present. A central connecting element is the lemniscate, a mathematical curve in the shape of a figure eight, which determines the arrangement of the works and guides visitors through the exhibition.
Pot na Goričko thus brings together art, landscape, memory and contemporary forms of artistic creation, inviting us to reflect on how a place shapes art – and how art can make a place newly perceptible.
The exhibition Pot na Goričko marks the retirement of Stanka Dešnik, former director of Landscape Park Goričko. It is not an exhibition in the conventional sense. Rather, it highlights her long-standing commitment to developing the castle into a centre of the region, where nature conservation and the cultural aspects of life play a central role, with a particular emphasis on the relationship between people and nature.
The exhibition gives form to a special cycle connecting nature, visual art and music. Throughout the year, visitors will be able to follow the development of this process.
The Artists
Bram D’Hont – visual artist, born in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, lives and works in Prosečka Vas on Goričko. Since 1980, he has pursued a continuous artistic research process in which painting, digital image processing, science and philosophy flow into one another.
Nikolaj Beer – born in 1945 in Križevci on Goričko, educated in Ljubljana, lives and works in Izlake. His 1986 drawing Pot na Goričko gave the exhibition its name. A single sheet stands opposite fifty-two positions.
